Assign Properties to Bins
Users can apply properties to bins. When attempting to move an item to a bin, the property values associated with the item’s lot number and with the bin must match. If the property values do not match, the move will not be allowed.
When moving containers, ALL of the property values for the items in the container must match the bin property values.
JustFood will ignore any property codes that are not set up on both the bin and the item’s lot number.

In order to assign properties to a bin, the following must be in place:
Property codes have been defined on the Properties page
Bins are defined for a location
To assign properties to a bin
Choose the Search icon, enter Locations, and then choose the related link.
On the Location Card page, choose the Bins action.
Select the bin that you want to assign properties to.
On the Navigate tab, in the Bin group, choose Properties. The Bin Properties page opens.
Populate the following fields:
Property Code: Code for the property.
Property Group Code: Property group that the property code is assigned to.
Value Type: The type of data that can be entered in the Value field.
- Boolean: Allows the value to be True or False.
- Code: Contains predefined values for the property.
- Text: Text can be entered for the value.
- Decimal: A decimal number can be entered for the value. A decimal minimum and maximum can also be entered.
- Time: A time can be entered for the value.
- Date: A date can be entered for the value.
- Percent: A percentage can be entered for the value.
Property Code: Code for the property.
Value: The property value that you want to assign to the bin. If an item’s lot has the same property code as the bin in which it will be placed, then the value for the item’s lot and the bin must be the same.
Decimal Min: If Decimal was selected as the value type, then enter the minimum value that the decimal number can be.
Decimal Max: If Decimal was selected as the value type, then enter the maximum value that the decimal number can be.
Click OK.
