Dock Staging
Floor provides the capability for warehouse employees to place warehouse shipments, in advance of the shipment time, in a staging dock. Before the warehouse shipments are posted and loaded on a delivery vehicle, warehouse employees must perform a validation of the warehouse shipment.
Prerequisites
Before you can perform dock staging in Floor, some dock staging setup must be performed in JustFood. The dock staging extension must be installed in JustFood. Also, for the locations for which you want to perform dock staging, you can turn on dock staging so that dock staging is automatically turned on for any warehouse shipments for those locations. Dock Staging Process in Floor
The dock staging process in Floor is as follows:
Dock staging must be turned on for a warehouse shipment.
During the warehouse pick process, the one or more items that make up a warehouse shipment must be assigned to one or more place containers.
Before the warehouse shipment can be posted, the one or more warehouse shipment containers must be validated.
After the warehouse shipment has passed validation, the warehouse shipment can be posted.
Dock Staging Functionality for Warehouse Picks and Warehouse Shipments
The dock staging functionality affects the Floor warehouse pick and warehouse shipment process as follows:
Warehouse Picks: When dock staging is turned on, before a pick can be posted, for all place pick lines, on the Pick Entry page, a value must be entered in the Place Container No. field. When dock staging is turned off, the Place Container No. field is not displayed.
Warehouse Shipments: When dock staging is turned on, before a warehouse shipment can be posted, the warehouse shipment must pass a load validation. While performing the load validation, the contents of a selected container can be viewed.
