Scan the Vendor Label and Print a New Label
When a vendor bar code does not have GS1 application identifiers for container data (00), or a serial number (21), or the bar code has been used during receiving, you are prompted to print a new unique bar code that is to be used during the warehouse processes. The information for the item is stored against the bar code for future use.
The label that is printed is based on what is defined, on the Label Configurations page, for the Item label type. Typically, the Inventory Label is 23019508. The Inventory Label contains the bar code that is set up as the default on the Bar Code Types page.
Prerequisites
On the JustFood Bar Code Types page, a default bar code is defined for a GS1-128 bar code type.
On the JustFood Label Configurations page, the Inventory Label 23019508 for an Item Label Type, is set up to print.
To scan the vendor label and print a new label
If the scanned bar code does not contain all of the required information, such as weight, after you manually enter that information, the information is associated with the bar code and can be used when the bar code is scanned in the future.
At the Bar Code field, scan the vendor bar code.
The data in the bar code is read by Floor. If any required information is missing, you are prompted to enter that information.
Because the bar code does not have an application identifier of (00) or (21), the message Re-Labeling Required is displayed.
If you are prompted to enter missing information, enter any required information that is not included in the scanned bar code, and then, to advance to the next field, press Enter.
After you have entered information in the last field, when you press Enter, you are automatically taken to the Print page.
Note
The displayed label is not the exact label that will be printed.
Choose Print.
The label prints.
If all of the items on the line have been entered, you are returned to the last input field.
If more items must be entered for the line, you are returned to the Bar Code field.
If you are returned to the Bar Code field, repeat the previous steps.
If there are more lines to receive, move to the next line.
