Publish a Report
You can save a Power BI report, and then reopen it as required, but because the Power BI Desktop software is connecting to a lot of data, the application may cause your system to slow down. To avoid a slow down, it is recommended that you publish the report. A published report takes a snapshot of your data, and then posts the data to the cloud. When your data is in the cloud, Power BI can quickly connect to your data.
To publish a report
In the Power BI Desktop software, on the Home tab, choose Publish.
The Publish to Power BI dialog box opens. The destination that is displayed depends on the system that you are logged in to.
To save the report to your private workspace, select My Workspace, and then choose Select.
After the report is successfully published, a Success message is displayed.
Select the Open filename.pbix in Power BI link, where filename is the name of a Power BI template.
The report opens in the Power BI web app. Alternatively, you can go to https://app.powerbi.com, and then to see your published report, choose My Workspace > Reports.
