Create a Variable Weight Item Tracking Code for the Serial Everywhere Scenario

In the Serial Everywhere scenario, variable weight items use serial numbers, so you must set up a variable weight Item Tracking Code that includes serial numbers.

To create a variable weight Item Tracking Code for the Serial Everywhere scenario

1. Choose , enter item tracking, and then choose the related link.

   The Item Tracking Codes page opens.

2. On the action bar, choose New.

   The Item Tracking Code Card page opens.

3. On the General FastTab, perform the following steps:

   1. In the Code field, enter a value to represent the variable weight item tracking.

   2. In the Description field, enter a value.

4. On the Serial No. FastTab, except for the SN No. Info Must Exist fields, turn on all fields.

5. On the Lot No. FastTab, except for the Lot No. Info Must Exist fields, turn on all fields.

6. On the Misc. FastTab, perform the following steps:

   1. Turn on Variable Weight Tracking.

   2. In the Variable Weight Tolerance % field, perform one of the following actions:

      • Leave the field blank

      • Enter the percentage that an item's weight can be above or below the item's net weight when item tracking is used. For example, if an item's net weight is 10 pounds and the variable weight tolerance is 10%, an item's weight on the item tracking lines, must be between 9 and 11 pounds.

      • If items are required to have a net weight before any transactions can be posted, turn on Strict Net Weight Posting.

7. As required, populate the remaining FastTabs.
