Set Up Notification Users
When setting up general notifications for workflows, on the Approval User Setup page, you can set up the users who will be receiving notifications. Also, you can define when users receive notifications.
Prerequisites
SMTP email is set up. For more information, see Set Up Email Manually or Using the Assisted Setup.
To set up notification users
Choose , enter approval user setup, and then choose the related link.
The Approval User Setup page opens.
For each user that you want to set up, perform the following steps:
On the action bar, choose New.
In the User ID field, select the user ID of the user who will be receiving notifications.
In the E-Mail field, enter the e-mail address of the person who will be receiving the notification.
To allow the approver to delegate and delete approval requests, select the Approval Administrator check box.
The Approval Administrator check box does not have to be selected for users to receive general notifications. The check box is used by users who manage approval requests.
To define how and when the user receives notifications, perform the following steps:
Select the line for the user who is to receive notifications, and then, on the action bar, choose Notification Setup.
The Notification Setup page opens.
in the Notification Type field, select General.
In the Notification Method field, select Email.
In the Display Target field, select whether the link within the email notification goes to the Web client or the Windows client.
You have now specified how the user receives notifications. You can now specify when the user receives notifications.
On the action bar, choose Notification Schedule.
The Notification Schedule page opens.
In the Recurrence field, specify the recurrence pattern in which the user receives notifications.
If the value in the Recurrence field is not equal to Instantly, in the Time field, specify what time of the day the user is to receive notifications .
Depending on the value in the Recurrence field, perform one of the following steps:
If the value in the Recurrence field is Daily, in the Frequency field, perform one of the following actions:
To receive notifications every workday of the week, select Weekday
To receive notifications every day of the week, including weekends, select Daily.
If the value in the Recurrence field is Weekly, turn on the days of the week on which the user is to receive notifications.

If the value in the Recurrence field is Monthly, in the Notification Date field, specify whether the user is to receive notifications on the First Workday, Last Workday, or a Custom day.
.If the value in the Notification Date field is Custom, in the Date of Month field, specify the date of the month on which the user is to receive notifications.
Note
The user triggering notifications will not receive notifications so you do not have to set up notifications for the requester. The e-mail notifications that users receive include a link, which the user can use to change when they receive notifications.
