Move a Production Order Task to an Alternate Route
If an alternate route is available, you can move all of the tasks of a production order to the alternate route. To see an example of how alternate routing works in Scheduler, see Walkthrough: Alternate Routing.
Prerequisites
Alternate routes are set up for the item.
If the alternate routings associated with the item have an Evaluation Method of Constrained Operation, in order for the alternate routing to be available for selection, on the Routing window, one of the lines of the alternate routing must have the Constrained Operation check box selected.
For the centers that are in the routings, a Scheduler view is set up.
To move a production order task to an alternate route
Select a view.
Select the Resource Groups check box.
Right-click the production order task that you want to move.
Select Alternate Routings.
The Move Production Task window opens.
Select the route that you want to move the production order task to.
Choose Select.
All of the tasks of the production order are moved to the new routing.
Note
If the centers on the alternate routing are not set up on the Scheduler view, you cannot see where the production order task was moved to.
