Variable Weight: Serial Everywhere Scenario
In Serial Everywhere scenario for variable weight, a serial number is assigned to each unit, for example, case, and the weight of the unit is related to the serial number.
For INBOUND, MOVE, and OUTBOUND transactions, the specific case weights, that are associated with the serial number, are posted. The Item Ledger entries and Warehouse entries record a transaction for each serial number.
In the diagram below, a lot is divided into 8 cases. Each case has its own serial number, and a weight that is associated with that serial number. The individual weights are recorded for the INBOUND, MOVE, and OUTBOUND transactions.
